What's New For 2024 - Part 2 RMR Rehabilitation

ionafit working with RMR Rehab

It's taken me a while to post part 2! 2024 has been so busy and exciting I've not had a minute. I'm so pleased to share that I'm working with RMR Rehabilitation!

"RMR's Aim & Mission

To provide specialist exercise training to those suffering the impact of a neurological condition, from progressive disorders such as MS and Parkinson’s disease to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and amputees. We are equipped with the knowledge, determination and patience to help you on your journey.

All our trainers are highly qualified and experienced in the exercise and rehabilitation sector as well as being DBS checked and insured. We feel it is important that our clients are supported to the highest level and that working along side physiotherapists and other professionals helps to give us more knowledge and guidance to support your needs and achieve your aims and goals.

Our Approach

We provide advanced and Adaptive Personal Training sessions both in person, at home, in a gym or online to help you on your journey. To maximise your rehabilitation, we often work alongside neurophyio’s, physio’s or as part of a team to provide the best possible service to ensure you get the most out of your rehabilitation and training.

We are here to provide support both physically and mentally to encourage independence, set goals and allow you to live a more fulfilled life." https://www.rmr-rehabilitation.co.uk

RMR Rehab - Iona Layland

I qualified for stroke rehab back in 2015 Level 4 Specialist Functional Rehabilitation & Exercise Training after Stroke (FRETS) Qualification.

Stroke rehab is essentially re-creating movement, it's not obvious but it's really related to dance training. It's also all about technique and building core strength; I'm having so much fun sharing everything I've learnt over the years.

So far I've got two clients' arm's moving who were told they'd never move their paralysed arm again simply using fundamental movement and neuro-rehab principles. All you can do is try and keep repeating, reps and sets. Never give up!

I still do regular PT including Mobile, Online (remote), Gym and Park.
